“Dysart Community Center has come to mean so much to me, family, friends and opportunities for those in our community to really strive hard and succeed in life. I am so humbled by the work done by my colleagues and our volunteers. My mission has always been to make a difference in this world.”
“It takes a village to raise a child, that’s very true and each day coming to the community center isn’t work for me. It’s investing in the youth and insuring that they know they are loved and cared for. I get the blessing out of all of it at the end of each day knowing I invested my time in making a difference. –Thank You”
“I have two younger brothers and a younger sister. My favorite team is the Boston Celtics and I enjoy watching basketball, football and soccer. My parents are from El Salvador and I enjoy pupusas!! I believe education is the key to our future, and I will strive hard to help make this journey a valuable one.”
Bridgette Olivas
After School Teacher“My name is Bridgette and I am the teacher for the 2021-22 after-school program. I have been going to the Dysart Community Center since I was five years old and as I got older, I had the opportunity to volunteer for a few years and ended up getting a job offer as a result! I also love spending my time painting and I am currently enrolled in my second year of the Vet Sciences program at West-Mec. It is always great to learn so many different things from the kids and become a leader to them as I did with my teachers as a kid.”
